GREAT NORTH BEATBOX FESTIVAL 2026

 
 

The Great North Beatbox Festival is happening May 29th - May 31st in Toronto, ON Canada! If you would like to participate please read the instructions below:


1.METHOD OF ENTRY

SOLO - Canadian Championships (Top 16)  & Great North Battle (Top 16)

  • An audition video of no longer than 2 minutes (2:00) not including personal introduction must be submitted to beatboxcanada@gmail.com.

  • All ages may enter

  • State your name & where you’re from

  • Say “This is my audition for the 2026 Canadian Beatbox Champs or…this is my audition for the 2026 Great North Battle…”

  • Must be performed in 1 take

  • No audio or video editing (standard EQ and mixing allowed)

  • Due date is midnight February 28, 2026 by Midnight EST

  • Send videos directly to beatboxcanada@gmail.com

  • Please do not upload videos publicly

  • Winners will be announced March 10, 2026

 LOOPSTATION - Canadian Championships (Top 4)  & Great North Battle (Top 4)

  • An audition video of no longer than 3 minutes and 30 seconds (3:30) not including personal introduction must be submitted to beatboxcanada@gmail.com.

  • All ages may enter

  • Create an up to 3 minute and 30 second video of looping(the time does not include your introduction, you have 3 minutes to loop)

  • State your name & where you’re from

  • Say “This is my audition for the 2026 Canadian Beatbox Champs or…this is my audition for the 2026 Great North Battle…”

  • Must be performed in 1 take

  • May use microphone of choice

  • Must be performed using the Roland RC 505

  • No audio or video editing (standard EQ and mixing allowed)

  • Due date is midnight February 28, 2026 by Midnight EST

  • Send videos directly to beatboxcanada@gmail.com

  • Please do not upload videos publicly

  • Winners will be announced March 10, 2025

TAG TEAM - Canadian Championships ONLY (Top 4)

  • An audition video of no longer than 2 minutes (2:00) not including personal introduction must be submitted to beatboxcanada@gmail.com.

  • All ages may enter

  • State your names & where you’re from

  • Say “This is our audition for the 2026 Canadian Beatbox Championships…"

  • Must be performed in 1 take

  • No audio or video editing (standard EQ and mixing allowed)

  • Due date is midnight February 28, 2026 by Midnight EST

  • Send videos directly to beatboxcanada@gmail.com

  • Please do not upload videos publicly

  • Winners will be announced March 10, 2026

2: DURATION OF THE AUDITION PROCESS

Submissions are open from January 23, 2026 to February 28, 2026. If you are selected to compete in the Great North Beatbox Festival, you will be emailed more information about the tournament taking place on May 29th - June 1st in Toronto, ON.

3: NATURE AND VALUE OF THE PRIZES

The prize for making it into the Great North Beatbox Festival is an invitation to Toronto, Ontario if you are chosen to move on to compete in any of the featured tournaments. Great North Beatbox Festival  WILL NOT cover any expenses related to the participants’ travel or lodging to Toronto, Ontario for the Great North Beatbox Festival event.

4: ELIGIBILITY

Great North Beatbox Festival participants who are invited and registered for the tournament are required to be 19 years of age OR have a signature from a parent/legal guardian permitting them to partake in the event.

5: PLACE, DATE & TIME OF JUDGING

Submission Contest finalists will be selected from March 1 - 10th, 2026. A panel of 5 judges will be choosing which online submissions are eligible for the Great North Beatbox Festival in Toronto, Ontario.

6: PUBLICITY MATERIALS

It is a condition of entry that the Great North Beatbox Festival has the right to publicize, broadcast and communicate to the public the names, characters, likeness and voice of any entrants for any promotion or matter incidental to the Promotion. Entrants may be required by the Great North Beatbox Festival to participate in any photo, recording, video and/or film session(s) (the “publicity materials”) and acknowledge that Great North Beatbox Festival has the right to use such publicity materials in any medium (including the internet) and in any reasonable manner it sees fit. By entering this Audition Process, the entrant warrants that the submission (and any part thereof) is their own work, or that they have any permissions necessary from the owner of the material to reproduce and distribute the work, and gives permission for Great North Beatbox Festival to publish this content through its social media, website, Newsletter, radio and television.

7: RELEASE AND INDEMNITY

To the extent permitted by law, all entrants must sign a release from, and indemnify the Great North Beatbox Festival against all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize(s) or participation including (but not limited to) loss of income, loss of opportunity, personal injury and damage to property, whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
